CTI Clinical Trial and Consulting Services (CTI) announces Timothy J. Schroeder, Chief Executive Officer, will present at the 2013 Studies in Pediatric Liver Transplantation (SPLIT) Annual Meeting, taking place September 26-27, 2013 in Toronto.

Mr. Schroeder will present on the topic “The Challenges of Designing and Implementing Clinical Trials: Pediatric Transplant”. According to Mr. Schroeder, “Advances in pediatric transplant have occurred over the last 25 years, in large part due to clinical research supported by academia, industry, and government agencies, though there are still significant challenges associated with moving this research forward. Approximately 15% of the studies CTI has been awarded over the last few years have focused on children. It is imperative to have an integrated team with extensive experience to successfully complete these challenging pediatric trials.”

Mr. Schroeder founded CTI fifteen years ago, and is internationally recognized in the field of transplantation, regenerative medicine, nephrology, and special patient populations, including pediatrics. During his more than 30 years in clinical, academic, and industry experience, he has authored more than 200 peer reviewed publications and has presented more than 300 papers at national and international conferences. He has also served as a visiting lecturer on more than 200 occasions.

According to their website, “SPLIT is a unique multi-disciplinary, multicenter consortium focused on optimizing outcomes in pediatric liver transplantation through research, advocacy, and dissemination of best practice in this field. SPLIT is the only such academic body dedicated to pediatric liver transplantation, and the SPLIT Annual Meeting allows SPLIT members from 40 North American pediatric liver transplant centers and international participants from the field to update their knowledge on current findings…and incorporate these findings into their own practice.”
