Clinical Research Associate Spotlights

What's it like to be a part of our clinical research team? Here are two of our employees to tell you about their job and CTI experience in their own words:

Ashley Martz, BA - Clinical Research Associate, Clinical Monitoring

What does your job entail?

A CRA travels to the hospitals enrolling patients on the clinical research study to monitor the safety of the patients, ensure accurate data is being collected and to communicate any study updates.

What's a typical day like?

A typical monitoring visit consists of reviewing patient files, ensuring data points reported within the electronic data capturing is correct, reviewing regulatory documents and if un-blinded, reviwing the investigational product stored within the pharmacy.

What's your favorite part of your job?

May favorite thing about being a CRA is the independence, self-accountability and being able to explore different cities, especially the food!

Why did you choose to work at CTI?

I chose CTI because of the amazing support you reveive, not only from your direct managers, but the CEO himself.

How would you compare CTI to other jobs you've had?

CTI gives you ample opportunity to grow through the mentoring program, CTI University, and support from your CTI colleagues. You have the chance to become a dynamic member of CTI and make a differencein patients' lives.

Maya Webb - Principal CRA, Clinical Monitoring

What does your job entail?

The CRA helps manage the sites that are conducting the clinical trials. We ensure that the site is following the study specified procedures and assessments and is in compliance with all of the federal regulations and GCP guidelines.

What's a typical day like?

Every day for a CRA can vary depending if we are working from the office or on site to conduct a monitoring visit, initiation visit, or close out visit. When a CRA is on site we perform the study visit per CTI's or the Sponsor's SOPs. A CRA is on site for approximately 7 hours a day. When working the in the office a CRA will complete all administrative tasks, complatre visit study reports and/or letters, and remain in contact with the sites to follow up on questions, data entry, action items and updated study information.

What's your favorite part of your job?

I love travelling to various sites and working with various study coordinators.

Why did you choose to work at CTI?

I like to think CTI chose me. I started working for CTI after graduation from Xavier University as a Research Associate. While working as an RA I fell in love with CTI because of the wonderful company culture and people that exist at CTI.
